AMP chief economist Shane Oliver says there is a lot of ‘uncertainty’ about the RBA’s rate cut before the end of the year.

Annual inflation fell to 3.6 percent through March.

It has fallen from 4.1 percent in the 12 months to December.

Economists say the result exceeded market expectations.

It means inflation is likely to fall more slowly towards the RBA target of two to three per cent.
